ULTEM® 9085 : Sabic ® self-extinguishing thermoplastic

ULTEM® 9085plastic is produced by Sabic Innovative System for Stratasys. It is a fully self-extinguishing, high-resistance and light-weight material. Its main properties are: high chemical and heat resistance and excellent traction and bend strengths. That’s why ULTEM® 9085 is an FST (Flame, Smoke, Toxicity) certified material.

ULTEM® 9085 parts are suited for extreme functional testing, needing high performance, chemical and heat resistance, and are used in those industries where the material performance makes the difference: aeronautic applications, industries linked to speed and racing and aerospace applications (certification FAR 25.853).

In many cases ULTEM® 9085 is used instead of aluminum being lighter and at the same time extremely strong. It is also useful for manufacturing light-weight and strong “honeycomb” structures for carbon fiber lamination.
